As you select items to donate, please ask yourself the following based on suddenly finding yourself in great need:
If I found myself in a time of need, could I put this item to use?
Would this item be helpful to me physically or emotionally?
Would it contribute to my comfort or happiness?
Could I use a partial box of laundry soap?
Could I use a partial bottle of shampoo?
Would this slightly worn sofa give me a comfortable place to rest?
Would this blanket keep me warm?
Would this pillow, mattress, and/or bed frame give me a place to lay my head down at night?
Would this lamp help me to light my room?
Would these shoes protect my feet?
Could this broom or vacuum cleaner help me to clean my room or home?
Would this pan help me cook something to feed my children?
Although I do not personally like to eat these items in my pantry, would someone else be nourished by them?
Could I use these tools or equipment in some way to support myself or improve my home?
Could I use this old lawn mower to mow my grass or that of others to help support myself and/or my family?
If you answer yes to these questions when selecting items to donate, please donate the item(s) so that they may be repurposed and gifted to bless others who have great needs. Purple Lemonade has experienced workers who donated their time to clean, repair, and refurbish donated items. Workers strive to make all donated items appropriate for gifting. Please remember to donate items you would personally be willing to use if you were experiencing difficult times. While some items may be entirely too worn and broken to be repaired and reused, many others can be rescued. Rescuing such items help people in need and also potentially lessen burdens on landfills.
Purple Lemonade will gladly accept the donation of your leftover garage sale items. We will sort through them and make sure everything is gifted to people who are in need. Your unsold items can become a vital part of the charities we serve!
